KS RANCH HEELERS-Welcome to the Ranch!
Hello and Welcome! We are the Sheppersons- Gwen, Reno, Kiley and Kody. We and our extended family run 2500 head of Angus beef cattle on over 150,000 acres in central Wyoming, near the southern Big Horn Mountains. The country here is rugged and rough and as a result, we do our cow work the old-fashioned way, on the back of good horses with the help of great Australian Cattle Dogs, (also known as Queensland Heelers).
Our dogs are of particular pride to us as they are part of our family and an integral part of ranch work. We depend on our dogs for working cattle year round, all seasons, all conditions, over thousands of acres of rangeland. They are our trusted partners and friends.
We are proud to offer a selection of puppies from loyal, smart, hardworking stock out of over 10 Generations of proven bloodlines bred and raised here on the ranch, as well as some AKC registered litters. At times I also have older pups, started or finished dogs for sale too. Our family has been ranching cattle for over 100 years and have always had working dogs. (Occasionally I have puppies/dogs offered from relatives or friends as well, and often know of someone that has pups available when we do not.)
We started breeding our own dogs after it became increasingly hard to find working dogs from other breeders that satisfied our needs for a true hardworking cattle dog. Then our relatives and neighboring ranchers requested our pups, and word of mouth spread even further, and years later, we now have pups coast to coast in the US and Canada.
The well-being of our dogs/puppies and the satisfaction of a puppy's new family are our first concerns. Many of our puppies have found work and families on ranches and farms, while others are just as happy competing in disc, agility, obedience, confirmation and herding as well as providing loving companionship to their families in many states. We have met some great people along the way, and that is the best part!
